Crusaders and More FM celebrate 30 years of loyalty with ‘Teammates Since 1996’ campaign

As the Crusaders prepare to run out for their first home game at the new One New Zealand Stadium during DHL Super Rugby Pacific Super Round 2026, the club is proud to celebrate a special milestone alongside one of its longeststanding partners – 30 years of loyalty with More FM Canterbury.

To mark three decades of partnership, the Crusaders and More FM have launched Teammates Since 1996, a campaign that honours a relationship built on shared values, deep community connection and a genuine love for the game.

Developed by Plato Creative, the campaign aligns this significant anniversary with a landmark moment in Canterbury sport – the opening of the Crusaders’ new home.

At the heart of Teammates Since 1996 is the people who have shaped the partnership across generations. More FM Breakfast hosts Lana Searle and Simon Barnett feature alongside Crusaders players David Havili, Antonio Shalfoon and Fletcher Newell, together reflecting the teamwork, camaraderie and pride that have defined the relationship since day one.

“This partnership with More FM means a lot to us,” says Colin Mansbridge, CEO of the Crusaders.

“Thirty years doesn’t happen by accident. It’s been built on a genuine connection with our community, a shared love for rugby, and a real commitment to Crusaders fans. To celebrate that milestone as we head into Super Round, and as we open the doors to One New Zealand Stadium, makes it even more special.”

Rolling out across Canterbury, the campaign celebrates more than just longevity. It shines a light on the people, moments and memories that have shaped the partnership – from unforgettable matches to meaningful community initiatives and everything in between.

Emily Hancox, More FM Brand & Canterbury Promotions Lead, says the campaign reflects the deep connection both organisations share with the region.

“We absolutely love this partnership and everything it represents,” says Hancox.

“More FM Canterbury and the Crusaders have grown alongside the region for 30 years. We’ve shared the highs, supported each other through challenges and created some unforgettable moments together. This campaign is a celebration of that heritage, and we’re incredibly proud to continue the journey.”

Teammates Since 1996 is more than a campaign. It’s a tribute to a partnership grounded in loyalty, community and a shared belief in the power of rugby to bring people together.

The Crusaders and MediaWorks, with More FM as the lead brand, are also proud to have entered a new threeyear partnership, beginning from the kickoff of the DHL Super Rugby 2026 season.
