Quinten Strange

Quin Strange is a former Nelson College 1st XV Captain, who was selected for the successful 2014 NZ Schools side which won both games, beating Australia 34-24 and Fiji 58-0.

He debuted for Tasman’s provincial side in 2016 at just 19 years of age, off the back of some impressive individual performances with the New Zealand Under 20 team. He scored on debut, and scored three tries during the World Rugby U20 Championship, including in the final against Australia.

In 2017, Quin made his debut for the Crusaders coming off the bench against the Sunwolves, winning 50-3.

In his third year with the Tasman Mako, he was named vice-captain of the side that won the championship for the first time in 2019 and then again in 2020.

Quin earned selection into the 2020 All Blacks squad, before his season was cut short due to an ankle injury. In 2023, he was selected for the All Blacks XV Japan tour, and made the starting lineup for both games.
