Crusaders Under 20 team named for first match in Taupō

Crusaders Under 20 Head Coach Dan Perrin has named his team for their first match of the Super Rugby Aotearoa Under 20 tournament in Taupō.

Tasman's Anton Segner will Captain the Crusaders when they take on the Blues Under 20 team tomorrow afternoon, and the side also features Crusaders squad member, Chay Fihaki, who has been named to start at second five-eighth.

"We are really looking forward to getting our tournament underway tomorrow, and there is plenty of excitement in the group about competing against the Blues in game one," Perrin said.

"Not only will this be a great learning experience for these young men on the field, but it's a chance to connect as a squad, and more broadly as part of the first ever Super Rugby Aotearoa Under 20 tournament.

"The occasion is certainly not lost on this group, and I can't wait to see how they respond to the challenge."

The Super Rugby Aotearoa Under 20 tournament will be played across three days at Owen Delany Park, and features Under 20 sides from all five New Zealand Super Rugby regions, as well as a New Zealand Barbarians Club Under 20 team.

The Crusaders Under 20s remaining games are 3:30pm, Wednesday 14 April against the Chiefs, and 11am, Saturday 17th April against the Highlanders.

Kick off in the Crusaders Under 20 game against the Blues Under 20 is 3pm, Sunday 11th April, at Owen Delany Park in Taupō. The match will also be televised live on Sky Sport.
