Tone Kopelani

A star in rugby league where he made the Junior Kiwis, prior to turning his attention to rugby union, Tone Kopelani appeared in 43 matches for Canterbury prior to his departure to Wellington at the end of 2006. Often a bench player but invariably in the match day 22, the Suburbs hooker often provided plenty of explosive impact when he took the field. Kopelani featured in the NPC champion Canterbury squads of 2001 and 2004 while also sharing in the Super rugby title winning Crusaders outfits of 2005 and 2006. He was secured by the Hurricanes for the 2007 competition.
