Thomas Waldrom

« Back

Thomas Waldrom represented his school, St Patricks Silverstream, in athletics, specialising in the discus, shot put and hammer. He is also a very good runner, regularly among the leaders in the pre-season fitness tests. He earned himself a place in Hurricanes folklore in 2007 with a brilliant try after the hooter to beat the Brumbies at Westpac Stadium and the Crusaders newcomer is sure to become a favourite in the south thanks to his sense of humour. Waldrom is a powerful player with deceptive pace and footwork. His brother, Scott, an openside flanker, played one game for the Crusaders in 2004. They played each other in the Hurricanes victory over the Crusaders at AMI Stadium in 2009 where Thomas scored a try.
