Stu Loe

« Back
The cousin of the famed All Black prop and Crusaders captain of 1996 Richard Loe, Stu Loe was the quiet achiever of the family in more ways than one. Not only did his overall tally of Crusaders appearances outdo the figure achieved by the better known member of the front row family, he also achieved more Super rugby caps in total than did the All Black, boosting his career tally to 35 courtesy of the nine matches he played while at the Hurricanes on the draft in 1999. Stu Loe ended his run in the Crusaders jersey by starting in the last nine matches of the decisive 1998 campaign. His final day as a member of the Crusaders pack could not have been more dramatic as he was part of the heroic forward unit that blunted their much vaunted opposites during the dramatic 20-13 win over the Blues in the 1998 final at Eden Park.
