Scott Hamilton
« Back
A try-scorer on debut for the All Blacks in Argentina in 2006, Scott Hamilton is one of the Crusade’s quiet achievers, stylishly going about his business while operating in the shadow of some of the team’s bigger name players. Not that Hamilton’s value is under-rated by his team-mates. A proven finisher, who is equally capable at fullback, Hamilton has a high work rate off the ball and is a demon in the goal-kicking competitions that are held at team practice. A product of the same Glenmark club that produced Canterbury greats Alex Wyllie and Robbie Deans, Hamilton scored three tries in the 2005 semi-final win over the Hurricanes. He was Canterbury’s leading try-scorer (with six) in the last Air New Zealand Cup, where he operated exclusively from fullback in his 13 appearances. Five of his 12 appearances for the Crusaders earlier in the year had also been from the back.
