Philippe Rayasi

« Back
A Fijian international, Philippe Rayasi was one of six players to make their Crusaders debut against Queensland at Brisbane in 1996. An exciting attacker, Rayasi featured at fullback for his country against the All Blacks during a 5-71 loss at North Harbour Stadium in 1997. Following his season with the Crusaders, Rayasi returned to the King Country to play 11 matches in the North Island side’s unsuccessful bid to stave off relegation from the first division of the NPC. He ended his King Country career with 26 appearances to his name, which added to the earlier representative honours he had earned with Wellington in 1991 and 1992 when he played out of the Poneke club. During his time in the capital, Rayasi also made the New Zealand Sevens team, featuring in an international tournament in 1993.
