Mose Tuiali'i

« Back
The inaugural winner of the Crusaders players’ Player of the Year award in 2007, Mose Tuiali’i represented the All Blacks for three straight years after first being capped against Argentina in 2004. The imposing No 8 raised his 50th cap for the Crusaders during the 2007 semi-final against the Bulls at Pretoria. He then finished the domestic programme just one match short of a half century of representative appearances in that arena after an injury to a back joint flared up, forcing him to miss the Air New Zealand Cup playoffs. Tuiali’i has been likened to former Test great Zinzan Brooke, due to the quality of his ball skills, and illustrated his class on Test debut by scoring a try with his first touch of the ball. Such is the level of Tuiali’i’s consistency; he has missed starting just three matches for the Crusaders since Super 14 kicked off in 2006. He scored the team's only try during its victory over the NSW Waratahs in the 2008 Rebel Sport Super 14 final.
