Matt Mustchin
« Back

The son of a Canterbury representative, Matt Mustchin played nine matches for the province himself between 1999 and 2001 before gaining selection for the memorable 2002 Crusade. The hard working loose forward gained his sole Super rugby experience against the Hurricanes before opting to try his luck overseas when he linked up with the leading Irish province Ulster. Fellow Crusader, hooker Matt Sexton, was among his team-mates in Belfast. He is now playing alongside another Crusader at an overseas base, being a team-mate of former Crusaders and All Black prop Dave Hewett at the Edinburgh Gunners. Mustchin is also a former national Under-19 representative.
