Mark Weedon
« Back

A valuable recruit from the North Island, Mark Weedon underlined his worth by appearing in all but one of the matches played by the Crusaders during the second season in 1997. Originally from Rotorua, Weedon was one of two boys in the family to play representative rugby, with his younger brother Philip appearing for Bay of Plenty. The pair briefly played together at Harbour in 1995, although they were never on the field at the same time, as Phil’s only appearance for Harbour came when he replaced Mark against Thames Valley. Mark Weedon’s last year with Harbour was in 1996, a season in which he also received an All Black trial. He finished that term with 48 Harbour appearances to his name but was unable to add to that after getting through a busy second year as a Crusader.
