Luke had an outstanding first campaign with the Crusaders, scoring two tries for the Crusaders in the process.
His professional rugby career started with his debut for Canterbury in 2009 against Tasman. He was a vital member of the Championship winning 2011 ITM Cup squad.
A builder by trade, Romano was a promising cricketer until he was overcome by injury and made the switch to rugby.
