Caleb Ralph

« Back

Unquestionably the most durable player in commission in the New Zealand game, Caleb Ralph is back for his 12th Super rugby campaign after debuting for the Chiefs as a teenager in 1997. A Crusader since 1999, Ralph was the first player to score 50 tries for the franchise and currently has 58 Super rugby tries - just one short of Doug Howlett's all-time competition record. Ralph also played an incredible 103 consecutive games for the Crusaders from 1999 through until the final of the inaugural Rebel Sport Super 14 in 2006. He has played more games of Super rugby than any other New Zealand player and is just two games behind the overall record of 136 - held by the ex-Australian and ACT Brumbies skipper George Gregan. Ralph is also the second-most capped Crusader, just behind Reuben Thorne. A New Zealand Sevens representative while he was still at school, and an All Black before his 21st birthday; Ralph has offered valuable service to the Crusaders throughout his career, operating at both centre or on the wing. He was a member of the All Black side at the 2003 Rugby World Cup, and the Junior All Blacks side in 2006 that won the inaugural Pacific Five Nations. The 13th Crusade is Ralph's last before he takes up a contract with Sanix in Japan.
