Brent Ward

« Back
A product of the Auckland University club, Ward was the highest individual point-scorer in the 2005 NPC, joining a select group of players who have totalled over 500 points for Auckland in representative rugby. As a Super rugby player, Ward’s four Crusaders caps added to the 36 he had previously gathered from 26 appearances with the Hurricanes between 2003 and 2005, and 10 with the Blues in 2006. Ward scored 13 tries in 26 appearances during his Hurricanes career, which began when he played against the Crusaders at Jade Stadium in the first match of the 2003 competition. He departed New Zealand after helping Auckland to its 16th national title in the 2007 Air New Zealand Cup. Earlier in that competition, Ward had returned to AMI Stadium with two tries as Auckland grabbed the Ranfurly Shield off Canterbury. He returned to the Crusaders in 2011 as cover for injury and played in the match against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
